Starting January 2026, Dan Lăzărescu, the Bosch Group representative in Romania, will also be the director of the Bosch Engineering Center in Cluj.

The appointment, which comes shortly after taking over the leadership of Bosch's operations in Romania in October 2025, underlines the company's commitment to strengthen synergies between its entities in the country. Dan Lăzărescu succeeds Tobias Matter, who, after a successful four-year tenure running the center, will take up a new position at the company in early 2026.

„My priority is to further strengthen Romania's position in our global innovation ecosystem. Despite a challenging context for the automotive industry as a whole, I will continue to focus on issues fundamental to the success of the organization, such as strengthening competitiveness, driving innovation and accelerating digitalization, said Dan Lăzărescu.

Under Tobias Matter's leadership, the Bosch Engineering Center in Cluj has undergone a significant transformation, marking a period of growth and reaching a milestone in the local tech ecosystem, culminating with the inauguration of its second office building in 2024. „Running the Bosch Engineering Center in Cluj has been a great experience. The skills of our team and the collaborative environment have propelled us as a sonorous voice in Romanian engineering and IT,” said Tobias Matter.

An international career in automotive innovation

Dan Lăzărescu is the representative of the Bosch Group in Romania, serving as Managing Director of Robert Bosch S.R.L. since October 2025 and Director of the Bosch Engineering Center in Cluj since January 2026. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK) since June 2025. A graduate of the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, where he also obtained a PhD in digital signal processing for automotive applications, Dan Lăzărescu started his professional career at Bosch in Stuttgart in 2001. Over the years, he has held significant management positions in Stuttgart, Budapest and Cluj-Napoca, with responsibilities including the development of automotive control units and the coordination of the hardware and assisted driving solutions divisions for the global market. He is currently a recognized professional in the Romanian automotive industry.

In addition to his extensive professional expertise, Dan Lăzărescu is a leader with remarkable experience. Throughout his career, he has led complex teams of over 500 people, demonstrating strong transformational leadership skills.
