The Competition Council is submitting to public debate the proposed commitments submitted by Delivery Solutions S.A. (Sameday) in order to remove the competition concerns identified in the context of the acquisition of Cargus S.R.L. and its subsidiary EOPS Solutions SRL, according to a CC press release.
“Sameday is owned by Dante International S.A. , the company that operates eMAG. Cargus is owned by Celero Investments S.à.r.l., a company controlled by private equity investor Mid Europa. The commitments proposed by Sameday aim, among other things, at improving the quality of the services offered to customers as well as at maintaining a proper competitive environment in the courier market. Thus, the company undertakes to maintain, until the end of 2026, the commercial conditions of the contracts concluded by Cargus with its customers”, reads the CC press release.
Sameday will also divest Cargus' Automated Parcel Locker (APM) business.
”Sameday undertakes to implement a procedure for managing the relationship with couriers active in the delivery of orders related to eMAG Marketplace merchants. The company will inform the merchants working with the two companies about the type of information presented on the AWB of the parcel. After considering the observations received, the Competition Council may require modifications to the proposed commitments and/or decide to accept or reject them”.
