The most important B2B event in the renewable energy sector opens its doors on April 22, 2026, at the Palace of the Parliament, Bucharest. The Solar Energy Bucharest Summit will take place from April 22-23 and will host 2000 participants from 20 countries, representing companies developing renewable energy projects in Romania and the Balkans. The event format is an expo-conference, with 40 exhibitors expected, including equipment manufacturers, EPC companies, and software solution providers for operations and maintenance, with a combined turnover exceeding 36 billion euros and investments of over 1 billion euros in Romania.
For the first time at the Solar Energy Bucharest Summit, relevant topics for the specialized audience will be addressed, such as cost optimization, project financing, and workforce qualification in the renewable energy sector. The 5th edition of the Solar Energy Bucharest Summit aims to consolidate Romania's position as a regional hub for green energy investments and to facilitate dialogue between the private sector, investors, and authorities.
Romania's energy market is undergoing one of the most dynamic development periods in Europe, particularly in the renewable energy segment. Installed photovoltaic capacity reached approximately 5 GW by the end of 2024, with a record annual growth rate, supported by significant investments and European financing programs. A key component is represented by utility-scale projects, which reflect the market's maturity and the growing interest of institutional investors. Growth prospects remain strong, with Romania expected to surpass the 10 GW installed capacity threshold in the coming years, driven by a consistent pipeline of projects in various stages of development.
Among the event's speakers are representatives of authorities and industry experts: Cristina Prună, Vice-President of the Industry and Infrastructure Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, Sandor Bende, president of the infrastructure committee of the Senate, Peter Wiingaard, Training Project Manager at the Global Wind Organization, as well as representatives of relevant industry associations – Martin Moise, first vice-president of PATRES, and Andrei Manea, Executive Director of RPIA.
