The project will be submitted for approval by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

„Green light for the Brăila-Tulcea Expressway (Dobrogea Expres). Good news for the development of another major infrastructure project: the Brăila-Tulcea Expressway, an investment that will ensure connectivity between the bridge over the Danube at Brăila and Tulcea and the Danube Delta, has received its first approval. The National Company of Road Investments approved the Feasibility Study for „Dobrogea Expres” today. The project will now be forwarded for approval to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.” , noted Șerban, according to Agerpres.

With a length of 61.6 kilometers, the Brăila (Jijila) – Tulcea (Cataloi) Expressway will be built in Tulcea County and will pass through the localities of Smârdan, Jijila, Văcăreni, Luncavița, Isaccea, Niculițel, Frecăței, Somova, Nalbant, and Mihail Kogălniceanu.

On the route, the following will be built: 58 structures (bridges and overpasses); 5 road interchanges (Jijila, Luncavița, Isaccea, Telița, and the DX8 Tulcea – Constanța intersection interchange); two short-stay parking areas (left-right, km 12 and km 41); two S1 type service areas (km 31 and km 55); one Maintenance and Coordination Center (CIC).
