The shares of TeraPlast, part of the TeraPlast Group, a manufacturer of building materials with over 130 years of tradition in the industrial sector and a company listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) under the stock symbol TRP, were promoted on Friday, March 13, from the Standard category to the Premium category of the Main Market administered by the BVB.
The promotion of a company to the Premium Share category reflects the fulfillment of rigorous criteria regarding free-float capitalization and share liquidity. TeraPlast has met these requirements which, among other things, are due to the implementation of high standards of transparency and corporate governance and is thus promoted to a higher class. This development reaffirms TeraPlast's status as a representative company of the Romanian capital market and marks a new step in strengthening the company's presence on the Stock Exchange.
The inclusion of the shares in the Premium category of the Main Market of the BVB brings a number of advantages for TeraPlast as an issuer, related to the better visibility the company will have among retail and institutional investors.
An increased presence of companies in the Premium category of the BVB is a direct indicator of the maturity of the Romanian capital market. A more mature market also means a higher standard of communication and governance among issuers, which are essential elements for increasing the confidence of local and international investors.
TRP shares are included in the market's main index, the BET index, which brings together the largest and most liquid companies listed on the BVB, as well as in the stock exchange's BET-BK, BET-TR, BET-TRN, BET-XT, BET-XT-TR, BET-XT-TRN and BETPlus indices. TeraPlast's shares are included in the FTSE Russell Emerging Markets, FTSE Globall All Cap indices, thus benefiting from visibility among international investors. Its shares are also included in the MSCI Frontier Markets indices.
TeraPlast benefits from Issuer Market Maker services provided by Raiffeisen Bank International AG from 2024, and BRK Financial Group from 2020.
TeraPlast is the second company whose shares have been upgraded from the Standard Category to the Premium Category of the Regulated Market, the first issuer to benefit from this upgrade being global aluminum producer ALRO in 2018. Of the 87 companies listed on the Main Market of the BVB, the shares of 33 companies are included in the Premium Category.
