KER TOKI POWER Romania strengthens its role as aggregator and optimizer on the energy market

KER TOKI POWER ROMANIA, an electricity supplier, optimizer, aggregator and trader, part of the Renalfa Solarpro Group, announces ambitious investment plans on the local energy market, aimed at developing renewable generation capacities and energy storage projects, as well as expanding the operating activities for energy parks developed by other companies, the company announced.

„For KER TOKI POWER Romania, the priority is the commercial operation and performance optimization for the production and storage capacities of our partners and of the Renalfa Solarpro Group, of which we are part. We position ourselves as an aggregator and optimizer with an important role in both local and regional markets, where we operate together with sister companies under the TOKI POWER HOLDING GmbH umbrella. Romania is one of the most important markets for the group, benefiting from interconnections with Bulgaria, Hungary and Serbia - countries where we are already active, at group level. Our strategy aims at an organic expansion on the Romanian market, in correlation with the group's regional development”said Aurel Mîndrican, General Manager of KER TOKI POWER Romania.

The company started its activity in Romania by commercially operating renewable energy generation facilities on behalf of other owners. Just a few months after the launch of operations, the portfolio managed by the company has reached about 200 MW of installed capacity and an estimated energy production of about 500 GWh is expected by 2026.

The operating activity is complemented by solid investment plans. Over the next 3-5 years, the company plans to develop its own stand-alone battery storage capacities with a total estimated capacity of between 300 and 600 MWh.

„This year, we estimate a turnover of at least 60 million lei, which could even double, depending on the evolution of energy prices and the stage of commissioning of a stand-alone battery under development. In the medium term, over the next five years, we aim to achieve an annual turnover 10-20 times higher”said Aurel Mîndrican.

In Romania, the Renalfa Solarpro Group is considering sustainable investments in hybridized solar parks with storage capacity, a model that contributes to the stability of the energy system and the efficient integration of renewable energy.

„The decision to develop such investments responds to the current challenges of the energy system, namely the need to integrate an increasing volume of renewable energy without generating imbalances in the grid. Through these projects we aim to contribute to the stability of the energy system in Romania and the region”, underlined the company's CEO.

The Renalfa Solarpro Group has set ambitious targets in the region for the next five years: the development of 1,000 to 1,200 MW of renewable generation capacity, together with storage capacity of up to 2,000 MWh in stand-alone batteries.

Offering a full range of services tailored to customer requirements, KER TOKI POWER Romania strengthens its presence on the wholesale energy market in Romania and in the region by optimizing energy flows and harnessing the flexibility of energy assets. At the same time, the company is actively exploring the system services market, by operating its own storage batteries, as well as those managed for the group and partners.

„We do not exclude, within up to five years, the extension of the activity to the supply to end customers segment, depending on the evolution of the energy market”said Aurel Mîndrican.
