DTEK Renewables, DTEK's renewable energy division, has received the commercial operation license for the V\u0103c\u0103re\u0219ti photovoltaic park (126MWp) from the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE), marking the start of commercial operations and a significant milestone in the company's growth trajectory in Romania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the commissioning of the V\u0103c\u0103re\u0219ti park, DRI's total installed and operational capacity in Romania reaches 299MW, consolidating the company's position as a leading independent power producer (IPP) in the country and underscoring its ability to implement large-scale renewable energy projects efficiently and rapidly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Developed in D\u00e2mbovi\u021ba County, the V\u0103c\u0103re\u0219ti photovoltaic park will produce enough clean electricity to power approximately 50,000 households annually, while also avoiding around 48,600 tons of CO\u2082 emissions per year, significantly contributing to Romania's decarbonization goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In just a few years, the company has developed, financed, built, and brought into commercial operation four renewable energy projects, demonstrating an integrated execution model and in-house engineering and project management capabilities. DRI's portfolio includes the Glodeni I (53MWp \/ 49.05MW AC) and Glodeni II (60MWp \/ 49.9MW AC) photovoltaic parks, which together form one of the largest solar complexes in the country, the Ruginoasa onshore wind farm (60MW AC) \u2013 the first wind project built in Romania in the last decade \u2013 and the V\u0103c\u0103re\u0219ti photovoltaic park (126MWp).<\/p>\n\n\n\n At the same time, DRI has demonstrated its ability to attract international funding. The V\u0103c\u0103re\u0219ti project benefited from a financing package of up to 60 million euros from UniCredit and Garanti BBVA, validating the strength of its portfolio and its partnerships with leading financial institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The project also benefits from long-term revenue visibility. Starting in January 2027, 50% of the electricity generated at V\u0103c\u0103re\u0219ti will be sold to OMV Petrom S.A. under the largest physical PPA agreement for solar power ever signed in Romania, ensuring stable cash flows and supporting the project\u2019s long-term financial sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n DRI continues to expand its activities in Europe, with a vast portfolio of renewable energy projects in various stages of development, construction, and operation.
