Bosch, a global leader in technology and services, concluded fiscal year 2025 with consolidated sales of 2.9 billion RON (570 million euros) in consolidated third-party sales in Romania, marking a steady increase of approximately 9 percent in RON (7.6 percent in euros), despite challenging market conditions. Total net sales of 11.7 billion RON (2.3 billion euros) recorded in Romania, including sales from unconsolidated companies and internal deliveries to affiliated companies, experienced a slight decrease of 1.8 percent compared to the previous year.

„Bosch Romania has once again proven its resilience, recording a stable performance despite market difficulties and economic uncertainty in fiscal year 2025,” declared Dan Lăzărescu, General Manager of Robert Bosch S.R.L. and Bosch Group Representative in Romania. „This achievement is a direct result of our strategy focused on digitalization and innovation, and of the remarkable dedication and adaptability of our employees across all operations. Beyond its business operations, Bosch today represents a trusted partner for Romanian society, a contributor to local communities, and a top employer.”

As of December 31, 2025, Bosch had approximately 9,900 employees in Romania, a slight decrease of 4 percent compared to the previous year. Bosch invested approximately 176 million lei (35 million euros) in Romania in 2025, mainly in the development of its factories in Cluj and Blaj. While navigating the turbulence affecting the global automotive industry and adapting to increasing price pressure, Bosch maintains its commitment to the local market. To strengthen its future competitiveness, Bosch will continue to develop its local expertise, with a strong focus on shaping the key trends of digitalization and automation in Romania. In the first quarter of 2026, Bosch managed to maintain its sales at a level roughly similar to the previous year. In Romania, the company had a positive start to 2026, recording a slight increase in sales compared to the same period in 2025.

Looking ahead, Bosch anticipates that the slow economic development from 2025 will continue into the current fiscal year. Bosch expects the global economy to register moderate growth, at the level of recent years. In Romania, Bosch presents a tempered forecast for 2026. „We remain fully committed to the Romanian market,” stated Lazarescu. „To ensure our long-term success in the country, we rely on the existence of a strong, competitive ecosystem. A stable legislative and fiscal framework, modern infrastructure, affordable energy, a future-oriented education system, and an updated labor law framework constitute the essential foundations. If these elements are present, we are confident in our ability to navigate the current landscape.”

The Engineering Center in Cluj: a pillar of innovation in the global Bosch network

The Bosch Engineering Center in Cluj, established in 2013, is a pillar of innovation within the company's global network and plays a vital role in the continuous transformation of the mobility sector. With a highly skilled team of approximately 1,500 employees, the center leverages its extensive expertise in software, hardware, mechanical, and reliability engineering, as well as project management. The center develops innovative solutions and services based on data and artificial intelligence (AI), with applications in areas such as automated driving, electric, and connected mobility. Through close collaboration with other Bosch engineering locations and the Bosch factory in Cluj, the center offers unique solutions to global customers. It represents a key element of Bosch's intellectual property portfolio, developing over 100 inventions annually. Furthermore, as part of Bosch's long-term commitment to Romania, the center has developed three master's programs and four university courses in collaboration with the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca.

Looking to the future, the center is consolidating its competitive advantages. To this end, it is adapting its operational model to increase its agility and continue to provide the distinct and valuable solutions its global clients expect.

Emphasis on innovation, digitalization, and sustainability in production

Since production began in 2013, the Bosch Plant in Cluj, a key hub for high-quality electronic control units, has delivered over 550 million units to international customers. The plant is accelerating its digital transformation through the integration of AI, supported by dedicated internal training programs aimed at enhancing employee competencies for more efficient, data-driven decision-making. The focus on AI, alongside state-of-the-art automation such as automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and collaborative robots, directly contributes to improved quality, efficiency, and the creation of a safer working environment. Furthermore, sustainability remains a central pillar of operations at the Cluj plant. By 2025, its photovoltaic system covered approximately 11 percent of the total electricity demand, while heat recovery systems supplied around 54 percent of the location's thermal needs, complemented by a modern waste management system that achieved a recycling rate of approximately 77 percent. Moreover, as a pioneer in workforce development, the plant is investing heavily in education, currently supporting over 300 students through its Dual Study program and launching the new EU co-financed project „Boschool,” which will offer structured internships for 255 students annually, thus reinforcing the bridge between education and a highly skilled career.

In 2025, Bosch's production facility in Blaj solidified its strategic, future-oriented role through key initiatives in digitalization, sustainability, and efficiency. The plant continued its digital transformation by implementing the Optical Inspection System (OIS), an AI-based solution in logistics, which significantly improved delivery accuracy to customers. Furthermore, considerable progress was also recorded in terms of energy efficiency: for example, solely through the modernization of air treatment units, electricity consumption was reduced by 40 percent. Looking ahead, the plant plans to expand its green energy production by installing a new photovoltaic system in 2026, with an estimated annual output of 2,000 MWh. Investment in future talent also continued through dual university education programs, in partnership with local institutions such as „1 Decembrie 1918” University of Alba Iulia.

Starting in 2025, industrial technology activities in Blaj have begun operating under the new legal entity, Bosch Rexroth S.R.L., a transition that allows the division to operate more efficiently in the Romanian market. The new entity marked its first year with significant achievements, including expanding its industrial hydraulics product portfolio from 10,000 to 40,000 product codes and celebrating a major production milestone of one million parts within this division. Furthermore, the company's commitment to sustainability was recognized with first prize in the Health, Safety, and Environment category for its „optimized packaging” initiative during an internal competition.

Bosch in Timișoara: focus on technology and operational excellence

In 2025, the Bosch Business and Technology Solutions Center in Timișoara consolidated its strategic role, providing high-value services to the Bosch Group and external clients through its two legal entities: Bosch Service Solutions and Bosch Global Business Services. Bosch Service Solutions it has consolidated its position as a key technological partner, focusing on two main pillars: expanding its software development capabilities to support clients' digital transformation and accelerating process automation. Leveraging a complex portfolio of over 105 technologies – including AI, robotic process automation (RPA), and workflow orchestration solutions – the division delivers scalable and efficient solutions aligned with the dynamic needs of the industries it serves.

In parallel, Bosch Global Business Services It continued to act as a strategic partner within the global Bosch network, focusing on providing reliable and efficient services. The Timișoara teams focused on increasing productivity through digitalization, process optimization, and standardization initiatives. The continuous orientation towards operational excellence and customer focus is reflected in a high and constant level of satisfaction, with a score of 4.76 out of 5.

Furthermore, the center reaffirmed its strong commitment to the local community by participating in prestigious initiatives such as TIMOTION and the ArtEncounters Biennial, launching the „Community Garden” project in local high schools, and strengthening its educational partnerships.

The Development of the Business Sector in Romania

In the business sector Mobilize, division Mobility Aftermarket Bosch set a new sales record in Romania in 2025. This success was driven by strengthening relationships with strategic distributors and attracting automotive workshops through dedicated programs, such as the eXtra loyalty platform (extra-premii.ro), where workshops and spare parts stores can accumulate rewards. The Bosch Service network also expanded to over 98 workshops, being highly valued for its professionalism and technical expertise. For 2026, the division aims to accelerate its development by expanding its product portfolio and digital solutions, with ESI[tronic] software playing a central role. A key objective will be to grow the automotive workshop ecosystem by strengthening the established Bosch Car Service network and developing the new flexible „Workshop Partner” concept.

In the business sector Construction and energy technology, division Bosch Home Comfort had a solid start in 2025, recording significant growth in the residential and commercial HVAC segment, despite a market downturn in the second half of the year. This performance was supported by strong development in the air conditioning segment and an increase in market share for wall-hung condensing boilers. A milestone for the division was the integration of the Hitachi commercial HVAC business (light commercial segment), the company's largest acquisition to date. This strategic move positions Romania as a pilot country in the Southeast European region. Looking ahead to 2026, the division will continue to focus on growth, supported by an expanded portfolio and the delivery of an excellent customer experience.

In the business sector Consumer goods, Bosch division Power Tools recorded a slight increase in sales in 2025, despite a competitive business environment and stagnation in the construction sector. A significant moment of the year was the launch of the EXPERT range, a significant step forward in product performance, power, and durability. This new range includes innovations such as the world's most powerful 18V drill and the fastest 18V dual parallel charger, confirming Bosch's commitment to professional-grade innovation. For 2026, the division aims to strengthen its market position by focusing on end-user needs, with a particular emphasis on the home and garden segments, and will continue to encourage direct dialogue with users through events such as Bosch Pro Tour.

Plus, BSH Home Appliances, which has sold over 8 million appliances in the Romanian market since 1999, maintained its leading position in key categories in 2025, backed by superior product quality and a focus on digitalization and connectivity through the Home Connect app. In 2026, BSH will focus on expanding its small appliance portfolio, including robot vacuum cleaners and air fryers, as well as modernizing its large appliances by increasing energy efficiency and improving design.

In the business sector Industrial technology, The Bosch Rexroth sales division maintained its performance in 2025, navigating a challenging environment marked by volatility and cost pressure. The division also celebrated 25 years as part of the Bosch Group, a period defined by innovation and technological expertise. Looking ahead to 2026, Bosch Rexroth will continue to leverage its certified partner network, a key success factor that provides customers with quick access to solutions, local support, and technical expertise.

Bosch Group: Perspectives for 2026 and Strategic Path

In the context of geopolitical tensions and trade barriers, the Bosch Group intends to leverage growth prospects in its global markets with its full innovative strength in fiscal year 2026. Initial investments required in strategic future fields are expected to remain at the high level of previous years. In 2025 alone, Bosch allocated approximately 12 billion euros to research and development investments and capital expenditures. The technology and services provider anticipates sales growth of 2 to 5 percent and an operational EBIT margin of 4 to 6 percent for 2026. „As a global technology leader, we are committed to shaping the trends of automation, digitalization, electrification, and artificial intelligence, as this paves the way for profitable growth of our business,” said Stefan Hartung, Chairman of the Board of Management of Robert Bosch GmbH.

Despite considerable challenges, Bosch achieved sales of 91.0 billion euros in fiscal year 2025, a slight increase compared to the previous year (2024: 90.3 billion euros). After adjusting for foreign exchange effects, this equated to a growth of 4.1 percent. The operating EBIT margin of 2 percent was below the previous year's level (2024: 3.5 percent). Structural and personnel adjustments necessary for long-term sustainability had a considerable negative impact on the result in the form of provisions totaling 2.7 billion euros. „Bosch can build the future - even under unfavorable conditions. The year 2026 will be a year of progress,” said Hartung. In terms of innovative strength, Bosch is one of the strongest industrial companies in the world and, with approximately 6,300 patents in 2025, one of the most prolific patent applicants in Europe. Hartung sees strengthening the leading position in innovation as a key success factor for business development and the implementation of the company's strategy for 2030.
