The Minister of Economy, Irineu Darău, announced on Tuesday the opening of applications for the SME Eco-Tech program, through which Romanian companies can obtain funding for investments in production modernization, digitalization, and energy efficiency.
„We have opened applications for the SME Eco-Tech program. We're talking about over 288 million lei for Romanian companies that want to invest in more modern production, automation, digitalization, and energy efficiency,” the minister wrote on his Facebook page.
He stated that in recent months he has spoken with many entrepreneurs in the industry, and almost all of them have said the same thing. „If we want to remain competitive, we need to invest. In new technologies, in more efficient processes, and in the ability to produce better and at lower costs. This is exactly what we are trying to support through this program,” the Minister of Economy pointed out, according to Agerpres.
Through the SME Eco-Tech program, investments can be financed for the modernization of production lines, automation and digitalization of processes, energy efficiency, green technologies and recycling solutions, as well as for equipment for business development.
Funding is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, and registrations are open until June 24, 2026.
„Romania does not rise from slogans. It rises through the people who still choose to invest, produce, and build here, at home,” Darău also stated on his social media page.
