In the context of the temporary unavailability of the two nuclear units at the Cernavodă NPP, the National Power System is facing a high degree of operational stress, typical of such exceptional operating situations, Transelectrica announced.
”The specialists of the Transport and System Operator, Transelectrica, in close collaboration with specialists from all operational entities in the SEN, continuously monitor the evolution of the SEN parameters and apply all necessary technical measures to maintain the safe operation of the electricity transmission network and the balance between production and consumption.”officials from Transelectrica stated.
I maintain that at this moment, the National Power System is operating safely, in accordance with operating standards. Romania's electricity transmission grid operates interconnected with the European power systems, and this interconnection significantly contributes to increasing resilience and reducing the risk of major operational disturbances.
During periods of high consumption and low domestic production, the use of cross-border energy exchanges represents a normal operating mechanism for the market and the interconnected European energy system.
Transelectrica is in constant coordination with producers, distribution operators, and European partners to ensure the continuity of electricity supply to consumers in Romania, the company also stated.
