The Romanian construction machinery market decreased by 19% in 2025 compared to the previous year, according to data presented by Bergerat Monnoyeur Romania.
„The year 2025 was a year of adjustment for the construction machinery market, after the record levels reached in 2022-2023 both locally and in Europe. In Romania, some 2,540 machines were sold, down by 19% compared to the previous year”they said.
In this context, Bergerat Monnoyeur Romania, the leading distributor of construction equipment, recorded an estimated turnover of 126 million euro (unaudited). The company continued to grow, operating with a structure of around 300 employees, focusing its strategy on sustainable projects, integrated solutions and measurable operational efficiency.
According to the source, 1 out of 5 machines on the local market in Romania is Cat, and the brand dominates key segments such as bulldozers (1 out of 2 units), excavators and backhoes (1 out of 3), and motor graders (2 out of 3).

Company representatives emphasized that in the current context, connectivity and artificial intelligence are becoming key factors in transforming the construction industry. The data collected from construction sites: hours worked, downtime, consumption, emissions - are no longer just reporting indicators, but operational tools that enable quick and predictable decisions.
„The future of construction is not about man or machine, but about mixed teams: Man + Machine + AI. Cat AI Assistant is the glue that turns data into decisions and construction sites into smart, connected ecosystems. In Romania, by the end of 2025, around 5,000 Cat machines are already connected”, said Liviu Neagu, CEO Bergerat Monnoyeur Romania and Republic of Moldova.
He says the industry is accelerating towards autonomous machines and smart digital solutions that increase productivity and safety, at a time of increasing pressure on cost/profit and deadlines.
