The commercial segment and utility-scale projects currently dominate the demand for integrated energy solutions in Romania, while the storage component is becoming increasingly prevalent in all types of projects. In an exclusive interview with IndustryNews.ro, Alexandru Bătucă, Channel/Tier2 Manager at SKE Solar Inverters, states that the local market is undergoing a transition towards complete systems, which include inverters, batteries, and energy management platforms.
SKE is recognized as one of the leading distributors of Huawei's solar energy solutions in Europe. How has this partnership evolved in recent years and what role does it play in the company's growth strategy?
The partnership between SKE and Huawei has developed significantly in recent years, becoming strategic at both the operational and commercial levels. The collaboration is supported by constant communication between the technical and commercial teams, which allows for rapid adaptation to market demands and technological evolution. This partnership plays an essential role in the company's growth strategy, contributing to the expansion of its solution portfolio and the consolidation of SKE's position as a supplier in the renewable energy sector.
What are the latest Huawei solutions and technologies you have recently brought to the Romanian market, and how do they address the growing needs for digitalization and flexibility in the energy sector?
Among the latest solutions introduced in the Romanian market are advanced storage systems based on LiFePO4 technology, recognized for their high safety, durability, and energy efficiency. These systems integrate multiple protection levels and are suitable for both residential and commercial applications. In parallel, integration with the FusionSolar platform allows for real-time monitoring, consumption optimization, and intelligent management of energy systems. This level of digitalization offers users better control over energy production and consumption.
How do you see the evolution of demand for integrated solutions (inverters, storage, EMS) in Romania, and what types of projects are currently dominating – residential, commercial, or utility-scale?
The Romanian market is maturing, with a visible increase in demand for integrated solutions that include inverters, storage systems, and energy management platforms (EMS). There is a transition from individual projects to complex systems capable of optimizing the entire energy flow. Currently, the commercial and utility-scale segments dominate the market, supported by the need for energy efficiency, stability, and reduced operational costs. The storage component is also becoming increasingly important in all types of projects.
What is SKE's strategy for consolidating its presence in Romania, and what are your medium-term objectives in this market?
SKE's strategy in Romania focuses on providing complete and integrated solutions for local partners, complemented by technical and commercial support. In the medium term, the main objective is to strengthen Huawei/SKE's market position and expand its presence in all relevant segments – residential, commercial, and industrial. At the same time, the company aims to develop local partnerships and increase the level of technical expertise in the market.
At the group level, what are the strategic development directions in Central and Eastern Europe, and how does Romania align with this expansion plan?
At the group level, strategic directions aim to consolidate Huawei/SKE's position as a complete renewable energy solutions provider in Central and Eastern Europe. The focus is on expanding the portfolio, increasing delivery capacity, and developing a strong network of local partners. Romania plays an important role in this expansion plan, being a market with high potential and accelerated adoption of green technologies.
Given the accelerated pace of technological innovation, how do you anticipate Huawei's portfolio will evolve, and what solutions do you believe will become the standard in the local market in the coming years?
Huawei's portfolio will continue to develop towards integrated, intelligent, and energy-efficient solutions. Significant growth is anticipated for storage solutions, which will become a standard component in new projects, alongside advanced Energy Management Systems (EMS). Furthermore, equipment will become increasingly compact, secure, and easy to integrate, with a high level of digitalization and connectivity, adapted for the commercial, industrial, and utility-scale segments.
