Bulgarian unmanned aircraft developer Dronamics on Thursday announced the launch of a new defense platform based on its Black Swan transport drone, BTA reports, according to Agerpres.

Inițiativa are drept scop să abordeze un deficit critic de securitate națională – detectarea continuă timpurie aeriană și fixarea țintei asupra unor potențiale amenințări, asigurarea controlului asupra spațiului european, a anunțat compania.

For its first defense solution, Dronamics will cooperate with Munich-based Hensoldt, a globally active manufacturer of defense sensors.

According to Dronamics, this integration positions the aerial device as the most capable European Strategic Class III unmanned aerial system in its class.

The partnership between the two companies is delivering an entire European-built unmanned aerial platform equipped with a MissionGrid system featuring MissMarvin mission management software and PrecISR synthetic aperture radar surveillance system, enabling the detection and targeting of air, sea and ground-based threats.

The joint solution is intended to address critical shortfalls in national aerospace defense coverage, strengthening both Europe's defense and civil defense capabilities. Demonstrations are scheduled later this year, followed by deployments focused on strengthening the Eastern Flank, Mediterranean and Atlantic regions, the statement said.

The IT&C industry has become Romania's main exporter of services and remains one of the most important contributors to the economy, but growth is starting to slow. According to the ANIS study, the sector's evolution increasingly depends on fiscal stability and public policies, at a time considered decisive for maintaining competitiveness in the face of the US and China's tech pillars.
